“I believe you have to have an inner drive or motivation to want to be physically fit so you can commit to a program and stay with it.”
Debbie grew up in Norfolk where she was active in tennis, swimming, softball, basketball, and karate and as an adult has added in triathlons, surfing, and any other challenging sports. You can say she’s passionate about working in Physical Therapy, with 16 years under her belt. Like the others, Deb found her home at Wareing’s Gym where she’s been a trainer for the past 2 ½ years. She believes that holding someone accountable to gain results in their workout, keeps them motivated and she likes to switch up routines to keep their interest sparked. Also she encourages people to eat 6 small meals every 3 hours to keep your system balanced and burning the fat, not the lean muscle mass. Deb is certified in ATC, CSCS, and Youth Fitness Specialist Level One. Beyond training, she teaches Kid’s Fit Moves at Norfolk Yacht Country Club and strength and conditioning at Norfolk Academy. She enjoys searching for new and upcoming ideas in the industry to expand her repertoire or hanging out with friends, when she’s not at work.
Random Fact: With a type A personality and a background in Physical Therapy, she pushes people to do exercises correctly so that they get the most out of it.
