Jackie is a local to Virginia Beach and has been a trainer at Wareing’s Gym for 21 years. It all started when she wanted to kick smoking, so she took up running to exchange a negative addiction, for a positive one. Since then, she has made fitness her lifestyle of choice and is a part of the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Jackie focuses on consistency in her training and says that you can’t just stop for a holiday or summer break because then you’re more prone to injuries and always having to start over. One of the best tips for dieting that she gives is cutting out processed sugars and portion control. She believes that training is a team effort and that the role of a trainer is to guide you. When Jackie’s not working at Wareing's, she’s doing activities with the elderly at Windmere Nursing Home two days a week.
