In a designated private room, the yoga program at Wareing’s Gym is a comprehensive study of yoga taught by Yoga Alliance and International Yoga Institute certified instructors. It originated under the influence of Master Adam Nyugen (Zen) but has blossomed into a study of various styles of Hatha yoga including Zen, Iyengar, Astanga, Restorative, Hot, Kundalini, Anusara Principles, Power, Senior (Gentle), and Yoga Ball.
Classes include:
Chi Gong: A traditional system of Chinese meditation & core strengthening used to integrate the body, mind, and breath. This class will apply Oriental medical philosophy to optimize movement & increase health & fitness.
Hot Vinyasa: A vigorous flow practice which heats the body totally through continuous movement. Participants should be regular students in other levels of yoga to fully experience this practice. 60 or 90 min.
Hot Yoga: A structured series of sustained postures designed to work and stretch the muscles, ligaments & tendons. A deep physically challenging practice is encouraged by sustaining asanas in the heat, yet the postures can be modified for all levels.
Level 1(+) Yoga : A great way to learn and develop a basic Yoga practice. A + indicates a deeper practice appropriate for beginners or seasoned practitioners.
Meditation: Half hour of seated concentration with breath awareness. Great for stress release and calming the mind and spirit.
Pilates: Intensive abdominal training. Innovative total body mat class which enhances the CORE areas and strengthens the spine.
Power Vinyasa: A specifically sequenced set of postures designed to strengthen, lengthen, and detoxify. It incorporates breath with flow and is a heated class. All levels are welcome.
Stretch: A deep, yoga-based stretch designed specifically for athletes and anyone suffering from tight, sore muscles or chronic pain.
Tech and Restore: A Iyengar yoga practice with emphasis on alignment using various props to restore the body to its natural state. Restorative practice is done at a very slow pace and is ideal for seniors and anyone with injuries.
Teacher Training: Grand Master Adams 200 hour intensive Teacher Training Program. Separate membership required. Ask for details.
TOP of the MTN: A gentle, restorative practice with Grandmaster Adam than enhances movement and range of motion, both on and off the yoga mat.
Warm Flow: A basic hatha practice focusing on sore and tired muscle groups with focus on techniques to relieve the body of metabolic wastes.
Yoga Flow: Physical poses incorporating breath and movement.
Zen: A challenging practice, holding poses for their full effect using a traditional warm-up and intense asana with a martial arts flair. A short meditation of mindfulness follows the practice.
